Kathmandu: Maintain FC edged Bhote FC 3–2 on penalties in the final to clinch the third Himalayan Futsal Gold Cup 2083 in Kathmandu on Friday.

The final was decided through tiebreaker following a goalless draw in the regulation 20 minutes.

Maintain FC received the running shield, trophy, medals and purse of Rs300,000 while the runners-up Bhote FC took home Rs 100,000 and medals.

Yarsa FC Dharan won the Fair Play award and received Rs 20,000.

Maintain FC’s Pradeep Sapkota was named the best coach, while Ashish Dangol of the same club won the best manager award. Yarsa FC’s Rivas Maske was named player of the tournament, with Bhote FC’s Angel Gurung was adjudged the best goalkeeper.

Bhote FC’s Mausam Lama won the Emerging Player award.

The two-day tournament featured 44 teams, including six sides from outside the Kathmandu Valley, according to Himalayan Football Club president Binod Karki.

Nepal women’s national team players Anita Basnet and Hira Kumari Bhujel, among others, presented the prizes during the closing ceremony.
