Kathmandu: Host The Excelsior School secured twin victories –  senior boys’ and girls’–  in basketball on Friday during the 11th Excelsior Cup.

In the senior boys’ category, Excelsior defeated Radiant Readers 42-21 on the back of 11 points by Chhiring Gurung. In the senior girls’ category, Excelsior Red secured a comprehensive 13-2 win over Shree Navin Jyotiwith Akina Ghimire contributing four points.

In other senior boys’ matches, People’s Academy defeated Shree Navin Jyoti 6-2, Swarnim beat Sanskriti International School 41-13, and Nisarga Batika overcame New Zenith 21-15. Ayush netted four points for People’s Academy, Pratik Maharjan contributed 18 points for Swarnim and Arnav Khatri added seven points for Nisarga Batika.

In the girls’ matches, Swarnim saw off Excelsior ‘Blue’ 15-4, Radiant Public beat Rai School 19-4. Nitisha Maharjan scored four points for Swarnim and Sina Khanal netted six points for Radiant Public.

Boys’ Futsal 

In the U-9 boys futsal, Vidhyabani defeated Kavya 2-0, Kavya beat Galaxy Public School 6-1, and The Excelsior overcame Galaxy 6-0. In the U-11 category, Kavya edged School 1-0.

In the U-14 category, Imperial World beat Galaxy 1-0, and Excelsior beat Holy Vision 5-0. In the U-16 category, Galaxy secured a 2-0 victory over Swostishree.
