Jaisi last gasp goal fires Police into Qualifiers 2
KATHMANDU: A last gasp goal from Amrita Jaisi fired Nepal Police Club into Qualifier 2, a virtual semi-final, of the 2024 ANFA Women’s League at ANFA Complex in Satdobato on Friday.
The crucial win came in the dying moments of the Eliminator with Amrita Jaisi scoring the decisive goal in stoppage time to send the Police team into the next stage.
The match was an intense battle, with both teams fighting to secure their spot in the qualifiers. Nepal Police, who finished third in the league standings, were determined to keep their title hopes alive. Bagmati Youth Club, ranked fourth, showed resilience but couldn’t find the breakthrough against their opponents.

Jaisi’s last-minute goal proved to be the game-changer, as her clinical finish in stoppage time sealed the win for Nepal Police Club, allowing them to advance into Qualifier 2.
Looking ahead, Nepal Police Club will now face the losing team between APF Club and Army in the virtual semi-final. APF and Army had already secured their spots in Qualifier 1, finishing as the top two teams in the league standings. APF and Police will vie in the Qualifier 1 on Saturday.
With this crucial victory, Nepal Police Club remain in the hunt for a spot in the final, while Bagmati’s journey in the League came to an end.
