Film Futsal Cup on February 7&8
Kathmandu: Box Office International Group is set to organise Open Challenge Film Football Cup, a 7-A Side Futsal tournament, on February 7 and 8.
Organising a press conference in Tripureshwar on Thursday, Box Office president RK Subedi informed that the tournament will feature 46 teams. The annual event is being organised this year as part of a promotion campaign for Film Fare Award.
The event is an open tournament and will be played in the knockout format, according to Subedi. The tournament will be held at the Elite Futsal in Mahankal, Bauddha. Altogether 14 individual awards will be distributed in the event which include best player, best goalkeeper, and fair play team among others.
The winners will bag purse of Rs101,100 and the runners up will walk away with Rs51,550. The expected cost of the event is Rs500,000.
The best five nominees among 32 nominations will also be feted during the closing ceremony of the tournament. Meanwhile, the award winners of the recently held Short Film Festival in Pokhara will also be handed over trophies during the tournament.
