Himalayan Futsal on August 28 & 29
Kathmandu: Himalayan Football Club (HFC) is set to organise the second edition of the Himalayan Futsal Gold Cup on August 28 and 29 in Kathmandu.
Announcing the tournament at a press conference in Tripureshwar on Wednesday, HFC President Binod Karki stated that the competition will feature 32 teams competing in a knockout format.
“Teams from across the country—including Pokhara, Dharan, Butwal, Chitwan, and Kathmandu—have expressed interest in participating,” Karki said, adding that the organisers will provide accommodation and hospitality for teams traveling from outside the capital.
HFC Secretary Bidhya Dangal shared that one of the primary objectives of the tournament is to offer greater exposure to Nepali players and foster a spirit of competitive excellence.

Hosts Himalayan Football Club, based in Chuchepati, Chabahil, are also the defending champions.
The champions will take home a cash prize of Rs300,000, while the runners-up will receive Rs100,000. The fair play award carries a prize of Rs20,000, and the best player and best goalkeeper will each be awarded Rs10,000. The estimated cost of the event is around Rs2 million.
