Hosts Himalayan FC retain Himalayan Futsal Gold Cup
Kathmandu: Hosts Himalayan FC edged Thamel Ekata Club 1–0 to defend the title of Himalayan Futsal Gold Cup 2082 at Bhatbhateni Health Club, Chabahil, on Friday.
Shree Krishna Shrestha scored the decisive goal in the final. Champions Himalayan FC walked away with the running trophy, medals, and a cash prize of Rs300,000 while runners-up Thamel received Rs100,000, medals and the runners up trophy.
Himalayan FC’s Dipesh Shrestha was adjudged best goalkeeper, and Thamel’s Lakpa Tamang was named best player. Both received Rs10,000 each. Thokre FC bagged the fair play team award along with Rs20,000. Likewise, Himalayan FC’s Suresh Shrestha and Sandeep Tamang were recognised as best coach and best manager respectively taking home Rs5,000 each.

Nepal Police DSP Sukhdev Khanal, Federation of Nepali Journalists secretary Baikuntha Raj Parajuli and Bagmati Football Association vice-president Rajivman Basnet among others distributed the prizes.
According to Himalayan FC president Binod Karki, the tournament was organised to promote emerging talents and enhance their capabilities.
The two-day tournament featured 38 teams.
