Juni Rai among 3 Nepalis certified at International Wushu Judges Course
Kathmandu: Th South Asian Games (SAG) wushu gold medalist Juni Rai, along with two other Nepali officials, has successfully completed the International Wushu Judges Training and Certification Course in China.
Rai, accompanied by judges Manjur Maharjan and Dilip Lama, attended the week-long course held in Haikou, Hainan Province, from June 28 to July 4.
Jointly organised by the International Wushu Federation (IWUF), the Olympic Council of Asia, and the Wushu Federation of Asia, the programme brought together 166 judges from 39 Asian countries. The course aimed to standardise international wushu judging practices while enhancing the participants’ theoretical knowledge and professional competencies.

According to Rai, who also serves as the coach of the Nepal Police Club wushu team, the programme provided valuable insights into the technical aspects of modern wushu.
“We learned about the numerous changes in competition rules and the latest technologies being adopted in international wushu,” Rai said.
Rai added that the course would significantly benefit Nepal’s preparations for the upcoming Asian Games.
