Rabindra Chand appointed Karnali Sports Council Member Secretary

Kathmandu: Karnali Province Government has appointed Rabindra Chand as the Member Secretary of the Karnali Province Sports Development Council.

A meeting of the Karnali Province Council of Ministers held on Thursday morning decided to appoint Chand as the Member Secretary.

“I have been involved in the sports sector for a long time and I will leave no stone unturned to promote and develop sports in the province and country as a whole,” said Chand during a telephone conversation with SportsNep.

He is also the executive committee member of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) and former president of Surkhet District Football Association.

Earlier, the provincial government had received recommendations from the Member Secretary Selection Committee, which had conducted interviews on Magh 3 and shortlisted three candidates.

The recommended candidates were Rabindra Chand, Deepak Hamal, and Pramod Hamal. In the committee’s evaluation, Chand secured the highest score of 67.17 points, while Deepak Hamal scored 60.63 and Pramod Hamal received 52.37 points.

Initially, 21 candidates had applied for the position of Member Secretary, out of which 10 were shortlisted for interviews.

Based on the interviews and evaluations, the top three candidates were recommended to the Council of Ministers, from which Chand has been appointed.
