APF floors Karnali to enter Lumbin Cup women’s semi-final 

Kathmandu: Nepal APF Club pulled off a thumping 6-0 victory over Karnali Province Football Association to secure semi-final spot in the Lumbini Cup Women’s Football Tournament which marked a debut of star goalkeeper Anjana Rana Magar for the departmental giants on Monday. 

Studded with nine Nepali internationals, Rashmi Kumari Ghising, Renuka Nagarkote, Geeta Rana, Anita KC, and Sabita Rana Magar were on target for APF who were gifted an own goal to open the floodgates at the Nepalgunj Stadium.

Goalkeeper Anjana played her first game from APF following a recent transfer froM Tribhuvan Army Club. She was replaced by Sabitri Kishan in the second half. 

Tina Rawat put APF ahead with an own goal in the 17th minute before Renuka doubled the advantage in the 35th. Anita made it  3-0 two minutes later. 

Geeta, Rashmi and Sabita added a goal each in quick succession in the early second half to seal the victory. Renuka of APF was declared the player-of-the-match. 

The semi-final round will begin on Tuesday with rivals Nepal Police Club vying against Tribhuvan Army Club—will face off. APF will compete against Rautahat District Football Association for a spot in the final on Wednesday.
