Uzbekistan’s Black Bulls claim Aaha Rara, beat Police 3-1 in final 

Kathmandu: Black Bulls FC of Uzbekistan clinched Aaha Rara Pokhara Gold Cup with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Nepal Police Club at the Pokhara Stadium, Kaski, on Saturday. 

 

Participating in the tournament for the first time, Black Bulls edged the most successful team of the tournament that have won the title for six times. They became the second team from abroad to win the prestigious title after Africa United, who had secured the trophy in 2005.

 

It was the record 11th final appearance for Police who missed the opportunity to become the most successful team at Aaha Rara. As of now, Police and Manang Marshyangdi Club have lifted the prestigious trophy of the annual tournament six times each. 

 

In the summit clash, Jakhongir Akhmadov, Asilbek Orifjonov, and Shavkatjon Satorov scored a goal each for Black Bulls. Police’s only goal came as a gift from the visiting side as they scored an own goal.

 

Black Bulls opened the scoring in the 40th minute through Jakhongir Akhmadov. Asilbek Orifjonov doubled the advantage for the visiting team in the 58th minute before Satorov made it 3-0 in the 66th minute. 

 

Alijon Alijonov scored at his own post in the 77th minute as the game ended with 3-1 score. 

 

In the semifinals, Black Bulls had defeated Three Star and Police overcame Church Boys United.
