Kathmandu: Nepal Super League (NSL) side Pokhara Thunders have roped in Nepal international forward Nawayug Shrestha for the franchise based tournament starting from March 29. 

Nawayug, surprisingly left unsold in the mini auction held on Saturday (February 22), came as replacement for ‘B’ category player Ram Thapa. According to sources, Thunders picked Nawayug after Planning Boys refused to release Ram who is under contract for the Martyrs Memorial ‘B’ Division League.  

According to a statement issued by Thunders, Nawayug will play instead of Ram. 

Nawayug was the marquee player of Thunders in the first season while he played for Sporting De Ilam in the second season.
