Footballer Nagarkote honored with Kshetra Pratap Adhikari Youth Motivation Award

Kathmandu: Nepal national women’s team midfielder and former captain Renuka Nagarkote has been honored with the Kshetra Pratap Adhikari Youth Motivation Award 2081 in Lalitpur on Monday.

Nagarkote was awarded on the occasion of NCM (Nepal College of Management) Day organised by the Gurukul Educational Foundation Nepal. She received a purse of Rs50,000 and letter of appreciation.

Television Personality Aman Pratap Adhikari, son of late Kahetra Pratap and also treasurer of the Foundation, described Nagarkote as an ‘Unsung Hero’. “She has served as a great inspiration to the next generation either by her performance on the field or her struggles in life,” said Aman.

Thanking the Foundation and Adhikari, Nagarkote said that she was overwhelmed to be honored for the first time in her 18-year long professional career as a footballer.

Congratulating Nagarkote, professor Dr Sushil Bhakta Mathema, the principal of NCM, wished for a more successful career in sports.

Nagarkote has made remarkable contributions in different football tournaments representing the national women’s team.
