RCT fight-back to climb out of relegation zone

Kathmandu: Annapurna RCT staged a sensational fight-back to seal a 4-3 win over Saraswoti Youth Club to climb out of the relegation zone in the Martyrs Memorial ‘B’ Division Football League Footballat Anfa Complex, Satdobato, on Thursday.
The six times ‘A’ Division champions RCT struck thrice inside five minutes midway through the second half rallying from behind twice. Prajjwal Gurung scored a brace before Ajit Gurung netted in the first half and Saajan Pakhrin after the break. Bishesh Lama, Sandesh Khatri and Naresh Khatri were on target for the Koteshwar-based side.
Bishesh put Saraswati ahead in the 36th minute but Ajit Gurung brough the match on level terms forum minutes later. Sandesh restored the one-goal cushion in the 53rd. RCT then netted the three goals in a five-minute flurry with Prajjwal scoring two quick goals in the 65th and 70th while Saajan finding the net in the 67th.
Naresh Khatri pulled one back in the 90th for Saraswati but they ran out of time.

The win eased pressure on RCT, who climbed out of relegation zone with their second victory of the season. They have eight points from nine games in the 14-team contest. Saraswati dropped to bottom of the standings with six points from two wins.
In another fixture, Bansbari Club saw off Nayabasti Youth Club 1-0, thanks to a lone goal by Bikey Rai. The fifth victory and third in a row lifted Bansbari to third position on 15 points. They are seven points adrift of leaders Planning Boys and three behind second placed Shree Bhagawati with both sides holding a match advantage. Nayabasti have eight points from as many games.
