Leaders Planning Boys held to draw

Kathmandu: Runaway leaders Planning Boys United were held to a 1-1 draw by Shree Kumari on Sunday in the Martyr Memorial ‘B’ Division Football League at ANFA Complex, Satdobato.
Following a goalless first half, Shree Kumari broke the deadlock in the 59th minute through Yaman Maharjan. Pratap Singh Rai cancelled the lead in the 72nd minute to maintain the leaders’ unbeaten streak.
The outcome, however, was the second draw of the campaign for Planning Boys who hold a five-point advantage over second placed Shree Bhagwati. Planning Boys have 22 points from nine games while Shree Bhagwati have a match advantage over the leaders. Shree Kumari are on 15 points.
Birgunj United defeated Madhapur Youth Association 1-0 in the early kickoff. Amit Bachhar scored the all important goal in the 42nd minute.
Birgunj United are in third position with 15 points in their kitty while Madhyapur remained on nine points with relegation threat looming around. Saraswati Youth Club on six points and Tushal Youth on seven points are struggling at bottom two positions.
