Kantipur City College clinch T10 cricket trophy
Kathmandu: Kantipur City College (KCC) defeated Kathmandu Engineering College (KEC) by four runs in the final to clinch Late Dambar Dhami Memorial T10 Cricket Tournament at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Thursday.
Electing to bat first, Kantipur posted 81-3 in the 10-over format and restricted KEC at 77-5.
Thanks to an all-round contribution from Jivan Rai for KCC. He scored highest 30 runs with bat and claimed three wickets with ball earning him the player-of-the-match award. He also won the player-of-the-series award for his exceptional performance throughout the tournament.
The tournament featured 12 colleges from three universities across the country. The winners received a purse of Rs35,000 and the runners up walked away with Rs20,000.
The tournament was organised in the memory of the late Dambar Dhami by the ANNFSU Eastern University National Committee. Dhami, originally from Dadeldhura, had completed his engineering studies from HIST Engineering College and died last year following a road accident.
