Kathmandu: Hosts Uzbekistan made a flying start defeating Sri Lanka 10-0 in their curtain raiser of AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers Group ‘F’ match in Tashkant, Uzbekistan, Sunday.

Nepal had earlier defeated Laos 9-0 inspired by a newly appointed captain Sabitra Bhandari in the same group game.

Nilufar Kudratova netted four goals for Uzbekistan and Diyorakhon Khabibullaeva added a hat-trick as the home team struck five each in either side of half-time. 

Lyudmila Karachik scored twice and Maftuna Shoyimova added another. 

Only the group winners among the four teams will qualify for the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup.
