Nabin Neupane appointed women’s football team coach

Kathmandu: Former Nepali international Nabin Neupane has been appointed as the head coach of the Nepal national women’s football team.

The position had remained vacant since July, following the resignation of Belgian coach Patrick De Wilde after Nepal’s exit from the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers in Uzbekistan.

Neupane, who has previously coached Nepal’s U-23 squad and several clubs in the Martyrs Memorial ‘A’ Division League, will serve in the role through the 2026 SAFF Women’s Championship.

He received his appointment letter from All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) general secretary Kiran Rai on Thursday. In addition to Neupane’s appointment, ANFA has named Bhagwati Thapa and Raj Kumar KC as assistant coaches. Bindra Dewan (team manager), Shila Giri (physiotherapist), and Bikash Gurung (kit manager) will continue in their respective roles.
