Kathmandu: All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has announced a 35-member preliminary squad for the Nepal National Men’s Football Team close camp, set to begin on Thursday in Kathmandu.
Newly appointed interim head coach Hari Khadka has called up the players as part of preparations for Nepal’s upcoming International Friendly against Bangladesh on November 13 and the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers match against Malaysia on November 18.
The camp will serve as an important phase for the national side as they gear up for two crucial fixtures within a span of five days — the first under Khadka’s leadership since his appointment as interim coach on Friday.
Khadka was appointed for the hot seat after UEFA pro license holder Matt Ross resigned from his position almost eight months into the job.
Meanwhile, ANFA on Sunday appointed Bal Gopal Shaukhala and Chetan Ghimire as assistant coaches.
