Karnali Yaks post 161-run target against Biratnagar Kings

Kathmandu: Opener Priyank Panchal struck a magnificent half-century as Karnali Yaks set a competitive target of 161 runs against Biratnagar Kings in the Nepal Premier League T20 on Friday.

Opting to bat first under the floodlights at the TU Cricket Stadium, the Yaks posted 160-3, built around Panchal’s fluent 63 off 47 balls and William Bosisto’s composed knock.

Panchal and Bosisto shared a solid 96-run stand for the second wicket. Panchal smashed six boundaries and two sixes before being run out by wicketkeeper Shahil Patel in the 17th over.

Bosisto played a patient, run-a-ball 48 not out that featured two boundaries. Gulshan Jha added a quickfire 10-ball 20, which included two fours and a six, before falling LBW to Sandeep Lamichhane.

Najibullah Zadran chipped in with an unbeaten 12 off six deliveries remaining not out.

For the Kings, Marchant de Lange and Sandeep Lamichhane picked up a wicket apiece.
