Kathmandu: Bagmati Youth Club Women’s Team of Sarlahi registered a hard-fought 5–4 victory over RS Resort and Beach Football Women’s Team of Pokhara in their opening fixture of the Martyrs Memorial Women’s League at Chyasal Stadium in Lalitpur on Thursday.
The entertaining contest saw both sides score once in the first half. RS Resort took the lead in the seventh minute through Gita Shrestha, but Asmita Magar restored parity just two minutes later as the teams went into the break level at 1–1.

Tulasi Kumari Oli put RS Resort back in front three minutes into the second half. Prajita Rai equalised for Bagmati in the 51st minute, before Dikshya Ranpal made it 3–2 for the Sarlahi-based side exactly at an hour mark.
Barsa Kunwar once again drew RS Resort level in the 68th minute. However, Asmita Magar struck in the 70th to put Bagmati ahead 4–3, and Dikshya added her second goal in the 76th to extend the lead to two goals.
Gita Shrestha pulled one back with her second goal of the match in the 83rd minute, but RS Resort’s late push for an equaliser fell short as Bagmati held on to secure a 5–4 win.
