Baahrakhari Golf & Economic Symposium on May 2
Kathmandu: The ninth edition of the Baahrakhari Golf and Economic Symposium is set to take place on May 2 at the Gokarna Forest Golf Resort in Kathmandu.
Organised annually by Baahrakhari Media, the invitational event will feature around 100 amateur golfers, informed Deepak Acharya, director of Gokarna Golf Club, at a press conference on Thursday.
The event will bring together business leaders, prominent figures from the corporate sector, and senior government officials, among others. According to Prateek Pradhan, chairman and editor-in-chief of Baahrakhari, the initiative aims to foster engagement among key stakeholders through golf while also creating a platform for dialogue on the country’s economic landscape via the Economic Symposium.
Amitabh Kant, former CEO of India’s NITI Aayog, will deliver the keynote address at the symposium. Former Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal and incumbent Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle are also scheduled to speak.
The 18-hole tournament will be played in Stableford format. The overall winner will be awarded a golden golf ball. Prizes will also be presented in various categories, including women’s, senior (60 years and above), best gross, closest to the pin, and longest drive.
