Adil Alam, Sundeep Jora return to Nepal squad for West Indies series
Kathmandu: All-rounder Md Adil Alam and batsman Sundeep Jora have been named in Nepal’s 16-member squad for the Twenty20 International series against the West Indies in Sharjah from September 27 to 30.
Alam had been out of the squad since 2022 following allegations of spot-fixing during the Nepal T20 League held in December 2022 and January 2023. He was subsequently suspended under the Cricket Association of Nepal’s (CAN) anti-corruption code, which barred him from all official domestic and international matches.
His suspension, however, was lifted on May 4 this year after the Kathmandu District Court acquitted him of the charges.
Jora, meanwhile, has been recalled to the national side for the first time since the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup.
Both players earned their spots after delivering strong performances in a recent Twenty20 series for Nepal ‘A’ against Assam, India.
Nepal will face the West Indies on September 27, 29, and 30 under the captaincy of Rohit Paudel, as part of their preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia-Pacific Qualifier set to take place in Oman from October 8.
