Cricketer Gulshan Jha honoured with Sanskriti Sports Award

Kathmandu: Nepal national cricket team all-rounder Gulshan Jha was honoured with the Sanskriti Sports Award during a special ceremony held as part of Sanskriti International School’s Annual Sports Day in Lagankhel on Saturday.
The 20-year-old received a cash prize of Rs 101,000 in recognition of his significant contribution to Nepali cricket.
Minister for Youth and Sports Bablu Gupta presented Jha with a certificate of appreciation and the cash award, praising his achievements and service to the sport. He said such honours help inspire the younger generation to become disciplined, capable and self-reliant through sports.
Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) first vice-president Prajwal Oli commended Sanskriti School for its continued efforts in encouraging and promoting sporting talent. According to the school, the awardee is jointly selected by NSJF and the institution.
Sanskriti School has previously honoured outstanding athletes and personalities from various disciplines, including middle- and long-distance runner Santoshi Shrestha, cricketer Kushal Malla and para-taekwondo athlete Palesha Govardhan over the past three years.
On the occasion, the school’s chairman Ranjit Acharya reiterated the institution’s commitment to continually supporting athletes who elevate Nepal’s profile on the global stage through sports.
