Kathmandu: Uganda striker Fazila Ikwaput struck twice as East Bengal FC made a flying start with a comfortable 4-0 win over Transport United Ladies FC in the SAFF Women’s Club Championship at the Dasharath Stadium, Tripureshwar, on Monday.
East Bengal dominated from the outset and broke the deadlock in the 35th minute through Ikwaput, last season’s I-League top scorer with 24 goals for Gokulam Kerala.
The Indian giants added three more in the second half against the Bhutanese side. Sulanjana Raul doubled the lead in the 59th minute, before fellow Ugandan Resty Nanziri made it 3-0. Ikwaput sealed the victory in the 72nd minute in the five-team competition, which is being played in a round-robin league format.

The top two sides after the league round will compete in the title decider.
Transport United had opened their campaign with a goalless draw against Karachi City FC on Friday.
