South Asian Jeet Kundo and seminar in Kathmandu
Nepal Jeet Kundo Martial Arts Association is set to organise Ted Wong Jeet Kundo Seminar and South Asian SDT (Street Defense Tournament) in Kathmandu from January 9 to 12.
Organising a press conference on Thursday, Association general secretary Shiva Bahadur Thapa said that the opening ceremony of the seminar will take place on Thursday and will conclude on Friday.
Altogether 15 referees from South Asia will take part in the seminar including technical manpower from Nepal, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Jeet Kundo chief judge Joaquin Marcelo from Spain, assistant judge Michal Czapla from Poland among others will conduct the seminar. The seminar will take place at Anupam Foodland, Battisputali.
The South Asian Street Defense Tournament will take place at the National Table Tennis Covered Hall in Lainchaur. The men’s event will feature five weight categories including below 55kg, 55kg to 60kg, 60kg to 65kg, 65kg to 70kg, and above 70kg. The women’s event will have two weight categories including below 55kg and above 55kg. Players from four South Asian countries will compete in the event.
The gold medalists of each weight category will receive purse of Rs 41,000 while runner up and second runner up will also be awarded cash prizes.
