Runner Santoshi, Mingmar claim 10k gold in Butwal  

Kathmandu: Star runner Santoshi Shrestha and Mingmar Tamang on Sunday clinched Shine Resunga National 10K Run in the women’s and men’s open section respectively, held in Butwal, Rupandehai. 

Santoshi, who had also secured Chief of Army Staff half marathon on Saturday, clocked 36 minutes 21 seconds to complete the 10km distance. Mingmar finished the distance in 31 minutes 53 seconds. Both the winners bagged purse of Rs100,000 each.    

Purnarajya Laxmi Neupane, Pushpa Bhandari, Aasha Rawal and Narayani Bhandari secured second to fifth positions in the women’s section. Nageshwar Aair, Ganesh Singh Rawat, Sanjeev Nepali and Aakal Badwal finished second to fifth respectively in men’s category. They received cash prizes of Rs 40,000, Rs20,000, Rs15,000 and Rs10,000 respectively. 

The 5km race for locals saw Shiva Rayamajhi secure men’s gold and Puja Pachhai earned women’s gold. 

The event was organised by Shine Resunga Development Bank on the occasion of its 17th anniversary.
