Deepraj Gurung elected taekwondo president unanimously

Kathmandu: Long-serving general secretary of the Nepal Taekwondo Association (NTA) Deep Raj Gurung has been unanimously elected as the president of the national martial arts governing body.
According to NTA, the fifth annual general assembly held in Sauraha, Chitwan on Sunday, also elected a 19-member executive committee unanimously for a four-year term.
Alongside Gurung, Bhan Bahadur Chand, Nanda Kumar Rai, and Dil Bahadur Oli were elected as vice presidents while Kasim Minya was named treasurer.
The elected members include Tika Prasad Limbu, Ravi Thapa, Madan KC, Koshish Khadka, Shreeman Thapa Magar, Nanda Basyal, Guru Prasad Gautam, Suman Parajuli, Ramchandra Shrestha, Kumar Lama Ghising, Bijay Kumar Neupane, Bablu Shiwakoti, Hemanta Dangi and Prem Bahadur Bhandari.
The outgoing committee, led by Prakash Sumsher Rana, was scheduled to complete its four-year tenure on Wednesday. The general assembly was attended by representatives from all seven provinces, 58 district associations, and 23 central delegates.
