Kathmandu:  ‘Nepal-Japan Khel Sambandha’ Nepal-Japan Sports Relation), a Nepali language book authored by senior sports journalist Nabin Aryal was launched at Diyalo Restaurant in Nagoya, Japan, on Thursday.

Nepal’s Acting Ambassador to Japan Harihar Kanta Poudel formally launched the book amid a ceremony.

The event was attended by Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) ICC senior vice president Robin Prasad Serchan, Nepal Soft Tennis Association president and Honorary President of the International Soft Tennis Federation Binay Bikram Shah; former karate player Dev Ghimire among others.

Speaking about the book, Acting Ambassador Poudel said that the book would make it easier to understand the sports relations between Nepal and Japan.

“It will be easier to understand the relationship between Nepal and Japan through this book. I learned from the book that Nepal and Japan had already been connected through sports five years before establishing diplomatic relations,” Poudel said.

He expressed confidence that the book would prove to be a milestone in Nepal-Japan relations.

NRNA Senior Vice President Sherchan thanked author Aryal for providing an opportunity to learn about the sports relationship between Nepal and Japan. He said the book was an important document not only for Nepal but also for the Japanese government.

Nepal and Japan established sports relations 75 years ago, a fact documented by Aryal in his book.
