Majheri Resort roped in as official hotel partner for NSJF Sports Award

Kathmandu: The Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) has partnered with Majheri Resort & Spa as the official hotel for the 22nd edition of the NSJF Pulsar Sports Award set to take place in Pokhara, Kaski, on September 14.
This marks the first time the event will be held outside the Kathmandu Valley since its inception more than two decades ago.
Issuing a press statement on Friday, the NSJF said it had reached an agreement with Majheri Resort in Lakeside to ensure quality hospitality for guests and members.
NSJF President Niranjan Adhikari and Majheri Resort Chairman Arjun Khanal signed the deal. As per the agreement, the NSJF secretariat will be based at Majheri Resort during the awards period, and the resort will also provide accommodation for guests traveling from outside Pokhara.
Expressing his excitement, Majheri Resort Chairman Khanal said, “It’s a matter of pride for us to be associated with Nepal’s most prestigious sporting awards. I believe it is the collective responsibility of all Pokhara residents to ensure the success of this event, and Majheri is proud to play a leading role.”
The NSJF Pulsar Sports Award is widely regarded as one of Nepal’s most prestigious sporting accolades, organised annually by the umbrella organisation of Nepali sports journalists NSJF.
The awards celebrate and honor the country’s outstanding athletes, coaches, and contributors who have made significant impacts on the development of Nepali sports. The awards are primarily based on sportspersons performances from the previous calendar year, and this year’s edition will highlight achievements from Nepali calendar year 2081 BS.
The awards will feature 10 categories, including Male Player of the Year, Female Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Youth Player of the Year, and the People’s Choice Award — each with five nominees.
Other categories — Para Athlete Honor, Special Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, Team of the Year, and Asian Sports Journalists Award — will not have nominations, and the winners will be announced directly during the ceremony.
The nominees for the People’s Choice Award have already been announced. Bijay Sinjali (wushu), Evana Thapa (table tennis), Himal Sunari (volleyball),Puja Mahato (cricket) and Rekha Paudel (football) are the nominees.
Winners of the Male and Female Player of the Year, Youth Player, and Coach of the Year categories will receive a Pulsar motorbike, while winners in other categories will receive a cash prize of Rs 100,000 each.
