APF edge Army 2-1 in Women’s League
KATHMANDU: Armed Police Force (APF) Club secured a narrow 2-1 victory over Tribhuvan Army in a second-round match of the ANFA Women’s League Super Stage at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato.

Rashmi Kumari Ghising opened the scoring for APF in the 23rd minute, while Anita Basnet doubled their lead in the 38th minute, giving APF a comfortable edge going into halftime. Army’s Amisha Karki pulled one back late in the 83rd minute, but it was not enough to change the outcome.
Despite the outcome, the result had no significant impact on the standings, as both APF and Army had already secured their spots in the playoffs as winners and runners-up, respectively. APF leads the table with 24 points from eight matches, while Army follows with 16 points from the same number of games.

In the playoff stage, APF and Army will face off in Qualifier 1. The winner of this match will book a direct spot in the final, while the losing side will get another opportunity in Qualifier 2. Meanwhile, Nepal Police Club and Bagmati Province will battle it out in the eliminator, with the winner advancing to Qualifier 2 to keep their hopes alive for a place in the final.
The league now shifts its focus to the high-stakes playoff matches, where the top four teams will vie for the coveted championship.
