National 15s Rugby Championship from April 9

Kathmandu: Nepal Rugby Association (NRA) is set to host National 15s Rugby Championship 2081 from April 9 to 15 at the Chyasal Stadium in Lalitpur.
Organising a press conference on Friday, NRA general secretary Gobinda Ghimire informed that the tournament will feature four teams including defending champions Gorkhali Rugby Club,Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal Police Club and Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) Club.
The tournament will be held under round robin league format and the side finishing on top of the table will be announced winners. The tournament will also serve as a selection event for Nepal-Bangladesh International Rugby Series to take place from May 2-4 in Nepal.
All participating teams have been undergoing closed camp training for the past month and each team has been given preparation fees of Rs300,000. The winners and the runners up will walk away with purse of Rs222,222 and Rs111,111 respectively. The best player will be given Rs15,000. The expected cost of the event is Rs3.7 million.
Referees from Sri Lanka and Nepal will officiate the event.
