Kathmandu: Nepal Police honored Juni Rai, the gold medalist in wushu at the 13th South Asian Games, in a special ceremony on Thursday.
Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak presented a letter of appreciation to Sub-Inspector Juni Rai in recognition of her outstanding contribution to elevating the image of Nepal Police and for becoming the first female officer from the force to win an international medal.
The felicitation took place during the inaugural Women Police Conference, held at the Nepal Police Headquarters in Naxal.
Currently serving as the coach of the Nepal Police Club, Juni clinched the gold medal in the women’s 56kg sanshou category by defeating her Sri Lankan opponent.

“It is a proud moment to be recognised by the very institution that has supported me through thick and thin,” Juni said. “I am deeply grateful for this honor and remain committed to leaving no stone unturned in building Nepal Police into the strongest team possible in my role as coach.”
