Nepal gears up for National Esports Championship
Kathmandu: Nepal Esports Association (NESA) is set to host the fifth edition of the Nepal Esports Championship which will also serve as the qualifying event for the World Esports Championship.
According to NESA president Suraj Dangol, top players from Nepal will be picked through this competition to represent Nepal on the global stage. The World Esports Championship being organised annually by the International Esports Federation (IESF) brings together elite gamers from around the world.
The first phase of the qualifiers kicked off on Thursday and the final round of qualifiers will be announced on the due date.
The final stage of championship will feature the country’s best esports players competing for spots in the regional qualifiers. Those who advance from the regional stage will earn a place in the finals of the World Esports Championship.
The event will see intense competition across six major categories including eFootball, Dota 2, Counter-Strike 2 (CS2), Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Open, MLBB Women’s Division and PUBG Mobile.
