Hockey India donates sports gear to Nepal Hockey Association

Kathmandu: Hockey India, the Indian hockey federation, on Thursday handed over sports equipment to the Nepal Hockey Association.

According to Subarna Shrestha, the general secretary of the Nepal Hockey Association and a member of the National Sports Council (NSC), Hockey India donated 500 hockey sticks, 500 balls, and training kits to Nepal.

An Indian delegation led by the Asian Hockey Federation vice president and Hockey India secretary general Bholanath Singh, Hockey India treasurer Sekhar Manoharan and managing director Ravikant Srivastava handed over the equipment.

The Indian delegation also held separate meetings with the Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, NSC vice president Dhruba Acharya and the NSC member secretary Tankalal Ghising.

They held discussions about the current state of hockey in Nepal, ways to develop the sport, and the role of support from India in training and infrastructure development.

The Indian officials expressed commitment to provide training to Nepali players and support for the advancement of hockey in Nepal.

Nepal Hockey Association president Anil Prasad Sharma, chief coach Ranjan Thapa and other Association officials also attended the meeting with the Indian delegates.
