Taekwondo National Team Championships on June 15 & 16
Kathmandu: Nepal Taekwondo Association (NTA) has announced to host the inaugural National Team Championships Kyorugi on June 15 and 16 in Satdobato, Lalitpur.
Championships coordinator Bhan Bahadur Chand informed that the event will feature four team categories and offer a total prize pool of Rs300,000, amidst a press conference in Kathmandu on Thursday.
“The first national-level team sparring event will be held under World Taekwondo’s team kyorugi rules and feature competitions in two age divisions—cadet (12–14 years) and junior (15–17 years)—for both male and female athletes,” said Chand.
The winning team in each category will receive a purse of Rs50,000 along with trophies, medals and certificates. Runner-up teams will receive Rs25,000 with trophies and certificates while third-place finishers will receive medals and certificates.
The organisers have expected participation of about 700 athletes across the country. The estimated budget for the event is Rs1.25 million.
