Kathmandu: The Nepal Basketball Association (NeBA) is set to organise the Li-Ning Basketball Tournament, a qualifying event for the upcoming Himalayan Java National Basketball League, beginning on Monday.

The six-day tournament will be played at the Dunkmandu Basketball Court in Boudha, NeBA Vice President Pawan Thapa said at a press conference in Kathmandu on Sunday.

The four semifinalists will earn qualification for the National League, scheduled for March next year, where they will join already confirmed teams—Kirtipur Club, Hounds Academy, Golden Gate and Times International College.

Teams were selected through an open nationwide invitation. The participating sides have been divided into four groups of three teams each, with the top two from each group advancing to the quarterfinals.

Li-Ning is the official title sponsor of the tournament.
