Kathmandu: Niraj Malla claimed gold in the men’s category of indoor Skating Championships held for the first time in Rukumkot on Tuesday. 

Nabin Pun finished runner up while Sushil Shrestha secured third position. In the women’s section, Jenisha Shrestha secured top finish followed by Sapana Shrestha and Barsha Roka. The top three place finishers in each category received a purse of Rs10,000, Rs7,500 and Rs5,000 respectively, along with medals and certificates.

In the junior men’s category, Krish Bikram claimed gold while Jenish Shrestha took silver and Mikal Nepali bronze. The women’s junior category saw Unika BK, Ayushma Rokka and Suisanmi Roka secure top three positions respectively. 

The winners of both junior men’s and women’s categories received cash prizes of Rs5,000, Rs3,000 and Rs2,000 respectively along with medals and certificates.

Achyut Khanal, the president of Nepal Skating and Skate Boarding Association, distributed prizes to the winners.
