Taekwondo referee Kajal honored in USA

Kathmandu: Nepali Taekwondo referee Kajal Shrestha has been honored in the United States.

Kajal was feted with a purse of $400 and a certificate of appreciation by the Champion Martial Arts Club based in New York, USA.

According to Sunil Lama, the club’s coach and president, former Asian Games bronze medalist and SAG gold medalist Manita Shahi and Pushpa Thapa Magar gave her the amount.

Kajal had traveled to Texas, USA, to serve as a referee at the Dallas International Taekwondo Championship 2025.

The 27-year-old Kajal had won gold at the 13th South Asian Games. She had been an international Taekwondo referee since last year. She had been officiating both kyorugi and poomsae.
