Kathmandu: Nepali international taekwondo referee Raju Chhetri is officiating World Ranking (G2) Tournament being held at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center in Reno, USA, being held from February 14 to 16.

The event is being organised by World Taekwondo under coordination of USA Taekwondo and the USA Olympic Committee. About 2,500 taekwondo players including Olympians and World champions are participating in this event.

Prior to this, Chhetri has officiated numerous international competitions as a referee including 2024 US Open Taekwondo Championship in Reno, USA, World Ranking (G1) Kimunyong Cup in South Korea, 2023 US Open World Ranking (G2) in Las Vegas, Japan Open in Osaka  and 2023 Seongnam Open in South Korea among others.

Chhetri, also former president of Non Residential Nepali Association (NRNA) Korea chapter was the gold medalist at the Korea Open World Ranking (G2) International Tournament in 2008. He was given honorary citizenship by the South Korean government in 2013 in recognition of his contributions in sports.
