Langtang Trail Run on June 7
Kathmandu: The Rasuwa-Nuwakot Tourism Society is all set to organise Langtang Trail Run on June 7.
The 32 kilometers event will start from Kyanjin Gumba and will conclude at Syabrubesi, said Balaram Neupane, the president of Rasuwa-Nuwakot Tourism Society at a press conference on Thursday.
The organisers have expected participation of around 100 runners from Nepal and abroad.
The top five finishers in both male and female categories will get purse os Rs100,00, Rs75,000, Rs50,000, Rs25,000 and Rs15,000 respectively.
The estimated budget for the event is about Rs4 million.
According to Shiva Lamichhane, the vice president of the Rasuwa-Nuwakot Tourism Society, the primary aim of the race is to revive tourism in the Langtang region, which was severely affected by the 2015 earthquake and to establish Langtang as a a destination for high-altitude trail running.
The event is being supported by the Bagmati Province Ministry of Tourism, Nepal Tourism Board, and Rasuwa’s Gosaikunda Rural Municipality.
A technical team consisting of Gaganraj Neupane, Dinesh Tamang, and Urja Tamang has been formed to conduct the race.
